Lee County Council on Aging provides seniors throughout the county with opportunities for enriching their lives.

Services are provided on a donation basis. Founded as a non-profit organization in 1974, Lee County Council on Aging provides services and programs to Lee County seniors which help them to remain independent. No eligible person will be denied services due to an inability to donate.

Information and Assistance

LCCOA has certified staff who answer questions and assist seniors to obtain available benefits for which they may qualify.

LCCOA outreach staff is available to assist seniors with choosing and enrolling into Medicare Prescription Drug plans.

Circuit Breaker - Illinois Cares Rx applications must be renewed each year.

LCCOA staff make home visits and attend senior activities around the county. They answer questions about public aid, social security benefits including Medicare, circuit breaker features, information about the tax assessment freeze, energy assistance and other available programs.

Healthy Lifestyle

A variety of health screening programs are offered periodically at the Senior Center including blood pressure tests, vision and hearing tests, cholesterol screening and flu shots. From time to time, health education seminars are offered. The Senior Center offers an ongoing exercise class. Call the Center for details.

Funding Statement

LCCOA receives funds from the Federal Older Americans Act, State of Illinois General Revenue through the Illinois Department on Aging and Northwestern Illinois Area on Aging (NIAAA). Funds also come from the Lee County Board, United Way of Lee County, Title XX, Illinois Department of Transportation, membership dues and private donations.
